ART JOURNALS AND A SMOOTHIE!

It's a very windy afternoon in the south of Sweden. The usual tub of vanilla coffe has been substituted for a smoothie this Tuesday. Just felt like mixing fruits together in a blender, 😜 and went to Netto. Nothing new crafty in there this week though.
There were still some of the lovely notes books left that I bought two of last week, perfect for art journaling (as seen in my blog last week).

Storage box also still in the store:

I bought this a long time ago, but they're back!

Quite handy!

All winter pictures taken by our cottage in the woodlands.

Been doing a few more art journal spreads.

I've been collecting sentiments in a Gorjuss note book for quite some time.

Purple (and pink) are my all time favourite colors. Started this on Valentine's Day, hence all the hearts.
The big heart die is from American Memory Box.

Tried to do a little card yesterday. Out of my comfort zone with tiny 15 x 15 cm. I like to work on bigger surfaces.
Made an attempt to do flowers with inexpensive tulle from Netto. Would probably have been a good idea to have brown cardstock underneath the tulle though.
It certainly doesn't go smoothly all the time, it's a trial and error thing for sure!! 😳

Mmmm, love the smoothie! It was made from a banana, orange, pear, physalis, soy milk, broccoli (!), fresh ginger and some turmeric.

Broccoli is actually one of the few vegetables that has got more antioxidants raw. Several vegetables has to be cooked to make the antioxidants available (a known one is of course tomato).

Apart from vitamin C, folic acid (folsyra) and fibres there's hesperetin in oranges. That's an antioxidant that can protect against cardiovascular diseases.

I chose t
he ginger and turmeric for its antiinflammatory effect (I've EDS).

That was all for today, folks! Better stop with the nutrition in case you find it excruciatingly, utterly and mindblowingly boring!!

I hope the rest of your week will be fabulous!

HOORAY; NEW ART JOURNALS - AND MARKERS!

Hello out there,
Alright, got my mug of vanilla coffee in place, and I've lit the candle next to my computer. Here we go!

I hope you're all doing fine this week. If no protests I'll write in English instead of Swedish, since I've noticed there're readers outside of Sweden.

Today I finally made it to Netto, the Danish dollarstore that are all over the place in the south of Sweden. They get new products every Monday.
Monday we got back from our cottage, drove up there (1 hour and 45 min) on Friday. There were actually quite a bit of snow, haven't seen much of that 'down here'.

My beloved husband!

Saturday was fantastic with the snow and sunshine. We took a long walk in the woods. Revitalizing for body and mind!

The lake had frozen over

(Sepia)

How nice if we could've done some ice skating!

Well, back to Netto! đŸ˜” This week they once again have the same kind of markers that I wrote about in October 2017.

This time they're not divided into four color groups though......

.... but as you can tell in pastels, shadows, clear and basic colors. The white one is apparently a "colorless blender". Haven't tried it yet, but that'll be interesting!
They've all got a fine and a broad nib.

I've been looking for new books to do art journaling in. Have been using old text books for quite a while, and wanted something without text.
Well lo and behold, they've got great ones in Netto at the moment!

There're lines in these note books, but I don't mind. The pages are really thick - absolutely fabulous! 😋 There were also black and grey ones in my local store.
Love-love-love'em, and I can't wait to get started in a new one!

Even when I was much younger I loved stores that sold stationery, cards, colored pens, etc. Could spend forever in bookstores!
During the 80's I spent three years in England, and they'd many of these wonderful stores. Even love the smell of paper!

There're several other types of colored pens at Netto, and also a couple of storage boxes with different levels (that they've had before).

Finally a couple art journal spreads I did last week.

"Where flowers bloom, so does hope" is a quote from "Lady Bird" (the wife of Lyndon B!).

Kept this decoupage spread simple, since I really like the napkin (which was actually sent to me from England, thank you very much!).

A crazy mix of all sort of things!

Love this cute little bridge outside the cottage, the path leading down to the lake

From our garden today!

Since winter solstice they day has become 3 hrs and 5 min longer here in the south of Sweden. YAY!

Will soon be dinner time, then I'll finish a yellow/purple art journal spread - so that I can dive into my new lovely note book!
Longing to create!

All the best
from Meja

DANISH IN COPENHAGEN AND DANISH AT HOME!

Hello there Crafters!
Thought I'd write today's blog in English, instead of Swedish. Feeling good, with a tub of vanilla cappuccino next to me.  😜 Love the Tassimo coffee machine that my husband gave me for Christmas present a couple of years ago.

How are you doing this Tuesday afternoon? I hope feelings of inspiration is pouring over ya'all!
Last week was bl**dy awful, migraine for four days. Thursday was so bad I couldn't move my a head a millimeter - worst attack for a long while.

Received a wonderful happy mail from England today, feeling so lucky. Included was lots of papers from Stamperia - just looooove their products!  😊

On my way home from the post office I dropped into Netto (the Danish dollarstore). It's actually a grocery store, but quite often they've got crafty things.
This week once again they've got the Tempera colors, but now with three new shades; orange, really black and my new favourite: cobalt blue, YEY (thanks for tip, Ulrika!)!

250 ml

Did not know if we were going to make it to Copenhagen last Saturday as planned (due to the migraine), but I was thank God free from pain Friday.
Drove over the bridge from Malmö to Copenhagen Saturday afternoon.

The bridge officially opened in 2000

Went for a bit of shopping on the main street called StrĂžget (one of the longest shopping streets in Europe!).
One of many shops is SĂžstrene Grene at Amagertorv, sort of a "nice dollarstore" that sells interior, gifts, office items and much more. They do also have a DIY corner though!
This Danish company also got stores for instance in Iceland, France, the Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Japan.

I've bought acrylic paint here before and it works very well indeed. 13 kronor each.

Also found these cute miniature bottles with tiny glittery stars in them. 9,95 kronor.

In case you like decoupage (I love it!) they've got loads of beautiful and cool napkins (9,95 kr a pack).
Amongst many crafty things there're 3D foam pads, 2,98 kronor for 400 pieces.
Several colors of pearlescent 'effect liners' that you can do tiny 'pearls' with.

In the evening we went to Tivoli, in February this amusement park is dressed up in winter scenes.

Been there before when they've had halloween and christmas theme - always very beautiful.

Children really seemed to appreciate this small maze (labyrint)!

As a Christmas gift my husband gave me tickets to the musical Chess, and that's what we went to see this Saturday night (concert hall located in Tivoli). When one of the main actors sang 'Anthem', I got got gooseflesh all over. Such a powerful voice and beautiful song.

During the play I could at one point feel a tiny tug of my hair. Didn't think more about it since I was caught up in the play. Later I collected all my hair to the side, and to my surprise felt that I had a braid to the right on the back of my head!?! When the musical was finished I turned around to the quite young couple sitting behind us. "Thank you very much indeed for the braid. Did you have a bet going on or something?".
I just laughed but they got so embarrased I almost felt sorry for them, ha ha!

At Tivoli

Have a great week and
happy crafting!

PYSSELSNACK OCH 4 JOURNAL SPREADS

Hej allesammans!
